This is our house. It is in the Greater Vancouver Area of British Columbia, Canada. Built in 1967, the house has retained its original single-pane windows, wood doors, and many other features that are no longer up to present day codes. We took possession of it on Dec. 1 last year and has only put in a new furnace with air conditioning. The old carpets are ripped up to reveal cat urine rotted hardwood floors. The plumbing apparently are a mess and the electrical are probably too. Choosing a general contractor proved to be a bit of an emotional roller coaster, fueled with fear from watching 'Holmes on Homes'. Still, I love the house! I can't wait to move in.
